Storrs Peer Coaching

Peer Coaching at Storrs

The SSS Peer Coaching Program pairs incoming SSS freshmen and regional campus change students with upper level SSS students to offer them support and encouragement as they adjust to the demands of college life and acclimate to the campus. Advising takes place through informal social and academically-oriented one-on-one and group meetings. Peer Coaches are service-minded individuals with a 2.5 GPA or higher who serve as an important on-campus resource for new students.

Having a peer advisor is very influential when you’re starting college. Building a connection with someone who has been through what you are experiencing and that you can relate to definitely helps with the transition.
