The Center for Academic Programs (CAP) celebrated 50 years of Changing Lives Through Educational Access at a Gala held on October 28, 2017 in the Rome Ballroom at the Storrs Campus. Over 200 people attended the event, including alumni, current and former CAP staff, university faculty and staff, and officials from the Council for Opportunity in Education and the New England Educational Opportunity Association. State Senator Mae Flexer marked the milestone anniversary by presenting the Center with a Citation from the Connecticut General Assembly, and U.S. Senator Chris Murphy made congratulatory remarks via video.
