Assistant Professor, CLAS

Molecular and Cell Biology

Current Research Interests:
Our lab is focused on understanding the biology of human pathogen Toxoplasma gondii. T. gondii is single-celled eukaryote and one of the most widespread parasites on earth infecting ~25% of the worlds human population. In immunocommpromised individuals and babies infected in utero, T. gondii can cause life threatening disease.

Current Research Projects:
The goal of our research is identify and characterize the function of proteins required for parasite replication. To do this we use molecular biology, biochemistry and fluorescence microscopy techniques.
