SSS Program

Student Support Services (SSS) is a federally funded TRIO program serving students who are first-generation to college and/or from populations underserved in higher education. SSS has been in operation at UConn for over 50 years.

Each year, approximately 300 high-potential students from Connecticut are accepted to UConn SSS at the main campus in Storrs and regional campuses at Avery Point, Hartford, Stamford, and Waterbury.

SSS students begin their college journeys by participating in a five-week pre-collegiate summer program prior to the fall semester of their first year at UConn.

Each SSS student is assigned to a counselor who provides them with one-on-one advising, support, and advocacy during the Summer Program and throughout their undergraduate careers.
